Strikeforce’s Middleweight Championship Triangle

-MMA Fighting is reporting that Strikeforce is in the process of setting up an interim middleweight title fight between Jake Shields and Jason “Mayhem” Miller. Shields, widely considered a top-5 middleweight in the world, has been waiting on a shot to face current Strikeforce title holder Cung Le, who has not defended the belt since winning it in March of 2008 . Le has given no timeframe for returning to the sport as he continues to pursue his acting career but check out this interview with the Boston Examiner that everyone missed last week. “Mayhem” Miller has burst back onto the American scene after his role as host/creator of the show Bully Beatdown on MTV. More than just a TV personality though, Miller has been a staple in Japan over the past few years and is a quality opponent for Shields, who will still be a heavy favorite in this matchup.

-Some interesting weekend results courtesy of MMA Fighting. “The Kimbo Slayer” Seth Petruzelli returned to action with an impressive first round TKO win over former IFL fighter Chris Baten. Also, Randy Couture’s son Ryan, won his third fight in Las Vegas on a regional card.
